The Woman Behind The Blog

Let’s start at the begining, shall we?

My parents are from a teeny-tiny town in Northern Minnesota (Pengilly, if anyone’s interested).  They lived there most of their lives.  But at one point decided to move to Kingfischer, Oklahoma.  Where I was born. (they did eventually move back to Minnesota, where I currently live) I was an only child for 6 long years and then all of a sudden I had a baby sister whom I remember feeding, diapering and bathing.  Not too long after my sister was born two more major events would impact my life forever, my parents divorced and my mother gave birth again (46 weeks after having my sister) to a screaming, colic-y baby boy.

Since my mom was a single mother for so long, I come from a very tight knit family.   My sister and brother and I are still very much as close as we were 10 years ago.  Though I’m 24 and they’re 18 and 17.

In 2005 I met the love of my life, Jesse.  Though we did things slightly unorthodox, we both know that we are in this for the long haul and love and appreciate each other everyday.  Jesse and I were married in a VERY private ceremony at our local court house on March 3, 2006 and just over 2 month later, welcomed our 8lb 6oz baby girl into the world.  Kylie Cassandra.  (I will do something on the birth story at later time)

For the last 15 months, Jesse and I have been attempting to expand our family with another child.  While this is proving more than challenging, the hardships that we’ve faced while ttc’ing have brought us closer together as friends, lovers and family.

I like all things crafty-beadwork, scrap booking, writing, drawing…all of the above.  I’m slightly obsessive when it comes to the cleanliness of my space (home, office, car, desk) Most people make fun of me.  But I take pride in what I do and do the best job that I can.

Recently my husband and I have been working really hard to save money to buy our first home.  We’ve been trying to be frugal in every way shape or form-making more foods from scratch, using meal plans, growing our own herbs, making my own cleaning supplies…the list goes on and on.

I think that covers the major point in the “about me” portion of the page.  Please feel more than free to peruse through the rest of my blog!
